Traveling in Bhutan is different compared to other countries. Tourism is controlled and your time is in the hands of an official guide. See our guide on how to plan a trip to Bhutan, including travel tips and travel costs.
Bhutan
Bhutan is a country that felt very different to other countries we've traveled to. Here, we didn't see much influence of Western culture. The Buddhist country measures its prosperity by Gross National Happiness, rather than Gross National Product, and is often referred to as the "last Shangri-La". Bhutanese people are warm, laidback and genuinely seem content. You won't see anyone driving fast or in a hurry here.
